U.S. and #Russia #friendship came at cost of betraying #BalticStates and #Poland

“This friendship [between Russia and the U.S.] was at the cost of betraying us, the Baltic states and part of Poland,” says former Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė.

Speaking on TVP World, Grybauskaitė recalls the concerns in Central and Eastern Europe over Barack Obama’s “reset” policy with Russia, saying Lithuania and Poland feared it could weaken regional security. She also describes rejecting a meeting with Obama alongside President Lech Kaczyński in protest against the approach.
