Torrential rain triggers widespread flooding in Shanghai

More than 70,000 emergency personnel were deployed across Shanghai after torrential rain triggered widespread flooding in parts of the city on Sunday (Jul 19). Nearly 200mm of rain fell within four hours in Yangpu district, overwhelming drainage systems and inundating roads there and in neighbouring Hongkou, as well as parts of Pudong. #china #chinanews
