Alleged spaza shop looters to appear in court

The 69 suspects arrested for public violence during the looting that occured in Jeffery's Bay last week Thursday after a march against undocumented migrants are due to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrates Court today.

At least 23 spaza shops were looted during the violence and shots were also fired in Oceanview.

Several foreign nationals were also placed in a temporary shelter for their safety,

Two locals sustained gunshot wounds and one remains in hospital.
