Ehlanzeni District Municipality | Leadership, accountability and governance systems

Regarded as the economic corridor of Mpumalanga, the Ehlanzeni District municipality has maintained a clean audit outcome for five consecutive years.

The municipality comprises four local municipalities in Bushbuckridge, City of Mbombela, Nkomazi and Thaba Chweu.

Ehlanzeni's economy is driven mostly by tourism, cross-border trade and agriculture, contributing to over 36 percent of the province's economy.
Although there has been much progress, crime, illegal mining, unemployment and municipal debt continue to be challenges.
