Acting Minister for Muslim Affairs Faishal Ibrahim resigns over inappropriate conduct with woman

Associate Professor Faishal Ibrahim resigned from political office and as a member of the People's Action Party on Monday (Jul 20) over inappropriate interactions with a female member of the public, the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.

In a letter to the prime minister, Assoc Prof Faishal said that he recognised his conduct "fell short of the standards expected of me and was not consistent with the responsibilities entrusted to me". He added that he will devote his time and attention to his family.

Senior Minister of State Zaqy Mohamad will take over his post as Acting Minister for Muslim Affairs, the PMO added. #sgnews #singapore
