A gathering of Argentina supporters at Buenos Aires' Obelisk after their team’s 1-0 World Cup final defeat to Spain turned violent on Sunday (Jul 19) when groups of people started throwing stones and bottles at police.

The clashes forced closures on the main thoroughfares in the area. Authorities have not confirmed any injuries or arrests.
