Royal councils question criteria to appoint Chiefs

Some royal councils in Kuruman in the Northern Cape have questioned the criteria used by the provincial government to appoint Chiefs.

The concerned council say some people with royal lineage have been excluded from leading their communities - while those it describes as illegitimate and pretenders to the throne are allowed to assume leadership.
