The Auditor General of South Africa, Tsakane Maluleke will brief Parliament on the Local Government Audit Outcomes for 2024-25.
This comes as the country is preparing to hold its seventh Local Government Elections on the 4th of November 2026.
The previous 2023-24 Local Government Audit Outcomes revealed a dire and declining state of Municipalities.
Out of 257 Municipalities, 99 received unqualified audit opinions with findings.
With only 25 sustaining their audit status every year since at least 2020-21.
