Government efforts to restore dignity through sustainable sanitation

In keeping with the spirit of Madiba, some residents in the Marikana informal settlement in Refilwe, Cullinan, have received life-changing gifts to restore their dignity.

The Department of Human Settlements, in partnership with Amalooloo, handed over several MyLoo Dry Sanitation Units, replacing unhygienic portable and pit toilets.

The units are award-winning, waterless, off-grid toilets designed to provide safe and dignified sanitation facilities in water-scarce and rural areas.
