India-Romania Ties To Reach New Heights

This will be the first presidential-level visit to Romania after a gap of three decades. The last visit to Romania by an Indian President was by President Shankar Dayal Sharma in 1994. Before that, President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan and President V. V. Giri had also visited Bucharest. During the visit, the President will hold one-to-one as well as delegation-level talks with the President of Romania. The President of Romania will also host a state banquet in her honour. Romania was also helpful in the evacuation of Indian students during the Ukraine crisis under Operation Ganga. Romania strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack in April last year and expressed its firm support for India in its fight against terrorism.
