Chinese President Xi says AI should not be dominated by one country

The development of artificial intelligence should not be dominated by a single country but rather "a symphony of global cooperation", Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Friday (Jul 17). Speaking at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai, Xi added that countries should cooperate to build "a just and equitable global AI governance system" and urged stronger safeguards to keep AI under human control.

Xi also announced 5,000 AI training opportunities for developing countries over the next five years and plans to set up AI cooperation centres with groups such as ASEAN and BRICS. #chinanews #china #artificialintelligence
