If you’ve ever been to Poland, you’ll know the convenience store on almost every street corner called: Żabka (translated as "Froggy")
On July 16, the company had one of its best days on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, with shares soaring as high as 17%.
The reason? Żabka could soon have a lucrative foreign investor.
That investor is Japanese holding company Seven & I, the owner of the iconic 7-Eleven convenience store chain, which – according to preliminary reports from Japanese online portal Nikkei – is in discussions to acquire a stake in Żabka worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
