20 exotic parrots rescued from illegal wildlife trafficking

Officers of the Polish National Revenue Administration's Customs and Revenue Service (KAS) rescued 20 exotic parrots from an illegal transport and transferred them to the Central Animal Sanctuary, where the birds are receiving specialist veterinary care.

Examinations revealed multiple injuries, including broken flight feathers, tail feathers, and one broken leg.

Sadly, despite immediate medical treatment, one parrot did not survive. The rescued birds are protected under the CITES Convention, and authorities are continuing their investigation into suspected wildlife trafficking and animal cruelty.
