Efforts to secure Livingstone Hospital Complex

The Eastern Cape Health Department says improving security at public hospitals is critical to protecting patients, healthcare workers and the delivery of healthcare services.

The department has launched a R76 million security infrastructure upgrade at the Livingstone Hospital Complex in Gqeberha, where ageing infrastructure and repeated security incidents have raised safety concerns.

The project includes new perimeter fencing, CCTV cameras, improved lighting and access control systems.
