A public enquiry risks humiliating Ramaphosa: Counsel argues

A public enquiry will humiliate President Cyril Ramaphosa.

This is one of the arguments presented by his legal team in the Western Cape High Court.

It is hearing his urgent application to halt the work of Parliament's Impeachment Committee, pending the legal review of the Section 89 Independent Panel report.

Ramaphosa's counsel says that as things stand, there is no justification for a public enquiry.

Which is what the President believes will happen, should the Committee continue its work.
