High court rules against KZN education department

The Pietermaritzburg High Court has ruled that the KwaZulu-natal Education Department's failure to provide teaching and learning material is a violation of the basic right to education.

The court also ordered the department to make payment of outstanding funds to schools.

This after Sadtu in the province took the department to court over the payment of funds to some schools.
