Junior Portrait Awards unveiled at Rust-en-Vrede Gallery

South Africa's next generation of artists took centre stage on June 13 in Cape Town, when the winners of this year's Junior Portrait Awards were unveiled at Rust-en-Vrede Gallery.

The ceremony celebrated young and emerging portraitists and highlighted the awards' role in giving visibility, mentorship and practical opportunities.

Junior Portrait Awards help bridge gaps by nurturing talent, building confidence and opening pathways to further study, exhibitions and professional networks.

We are now joined virtually by Kelisha Persotham, Project Coordinator and Virtual Assistant at Rust-en-Vrede Gallery, and Weliswa Mdluli, this year's first-place winner of the Junior Portrait Awards.
