With Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine midway through its fifth year, the issue of “war fatigue” among Kyiv’s allies returns.
“Yes, people get tired. Yes, people ask questions. But we have to understand it's not about Russia fighting Ukraine. It is about Russian imperialistic plans. Ukraine is just one big piece in the puzzle,” Andris Kulbergs, Latvian Prime Minister told TVP World on the sidelines of the 5th Ukraine Recovery Conference in the northern Polish city of Gdańsk, adding that Ukrainians “are fighting for us, for Europe to be safe.”
“So money and support is the least we can do in order to feel good with our daily lives and their fighting and shedding blood,” he said, later adding that Ukrainians have proven, by “shedding their blood, that they want the European values.”
Join TVP World’s Paweł Trzaskowski and his guest as they discuss the value of Ukraine’s accession to the EU as well as NATO, and whether Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s absence from the Conference diminishes its impact
