People in Paris lounge at IKEA to escape heatwave

🥵 As a heatwave continues to grip much of Europe, videos on social media show crowds taking refuge inside an IKEA store in Paris, seeking air-conditioning from the sweltering temperatures.

French health officials said on Sunday (Jun 28) that around 1,000 more deaths than expected were recorded during the recent record-breaking heatwave. While temperatures have eased across France after soaring above 40°C in many areas, authorities continue to warn of the health risks posed by the extreme heat.
