Healthcare workers down tools at Zwide Clinic in Gqeberha

Healthcare workers and community members embarked on a strike outside the Zwide Clinic in Gqeberha over an alleged critical staff shortages and lack of essential medication.

The clinic has reportedly been without an operational manager since November last year and is operating with only seven nurses per day, despite requiring 14 nurses to function at full capacity.

The Clinic Committee says the absence of an operational manager has also affected staff morale and conduct.
