As Europe battles inflation triggered by soaring energy prices, some Western media outlets are pushing a "China Shock 2.0" narrative, portraying China's advanced manufacturing capabilities in fields such as electric vehicles, lithium batteries and photovoltaics as a "new wave of pressure" on the global market.
On the issue, a CGTN stringer interviewed two French locals for their views on rising prices, housing pressure and employment prospects.
The respondents said they were more concerned about the pathways to economic recovery than "external shocks." Noting China's technological development plans, one respondent called for seeking inspiration from the Chinese model. The interviewees said China-France economic and trade cooperation holds broad prospects and they look forward to both sides continuing to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
