A payment dispute that has crippled North West Transport Investment bus services and left thousands of Hammanskraal commuters stranded may finally be resolved.

Gauteng Roads and Transport MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela says the Gauteng provincial government is ready to release funds to unpaid bus operators once the North West provincial government gives the go-ahead and operators meet the necessary safety compliance requirements.

But operators insist the crisis runs much deeper, alleging corruption and claiming they have gone unpaid for more than a year.
