Returning citizens pressure Lesotho's labour market

The Lesotho National Development Corporation says the growing return of Basotho nationals from South Africa is placing increasing pressure on the country's labour market, underscoring the urgent need to create sustainable jobs at home.

The corporation has set a target of creating 50 000 net new jobs by 2031, saying bold and decisive measures will be needed to unlock investment and level the playing field for economic growth.
