Parties ramp up candidate selected ahead of KZN polls

With more than 900 wards up for grabs in KwaZulu-Natal, the race for ward control ahead of the municipal elections is intensifying as political parties battle to secure support across the province.

Political parties are now focused on their internal candidate nomination and selection processes. Some have introduced stricter criteria, requiring qualifications, community participation and hightened oversight.
