North West | Department misses another relocation deadline

Staff and services of the North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in Mahikeng remain scattered and have temporarily relocated to district and local area offices.

This, after the Department missed another deadline to relocate to permanent office accommodation.

While the nearby TEB Office Park was identified as a suitable space last month (June 2026), the Department of Employment and Labour issued both contravention and prohibition notices against the TEB Office Park.

The notices relate to oncerns about malfunctioning lifts, the absence of adequate emergency exit doors, the lack of submission of a structural integrity report and outstanding certification for the air-conditioning system.
