The annual Trek4Mandela expedition is preparing to take climbers to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, as participants continue using the challenge to honour the legacy of former President Nelson Mandela.
The initiative, organised by the Imbumba Foundation, raises funds and awareness for the Caring 4 Girls programme, which provides menstrual support to schoolgirls and works to address period poverty.
Since its inception, Trek4Mandela has brought together climbers from across the country and beyond, turning the climb into a movement focused on dignity, education and social change.
For more on this year's expedition, the impact of the initiative and the journey ahead, we are joined by Bongane Makwakwa, Ayanda Allie, Adele Rogers and Leonita Kühn.
