uMkhonto weSizwe freedom fighter, Ashley Kriel honoured

An event to honour the legacy of uMkhonto we Sizwe freedom fighter, Ashley Kriel, was held at the University of the Western Cape.
The 20-year-old liberation icon was shot and killed on the 9th of July 1987, following his return to the country from MK training abroad.
Organisers say it's imperative that Kriel's legacy and his role in the struggle for a free South Africa be cemented in the collective memory of the people.
