King Misuzulu apologises after video leak

AmaZulu King, Misuzulu kaZwelithini, has issued an apology following leaked video footage in which he's seen shouting at one of his wives in a video allegedly recorded inside the royal household.

The video captures an emotionally charged dispute, in which the Zulu monarch is seen berating his third wife, Queen Nomzamo Myeni, while demanding her departure from the palace.

In a statement, the royal household admits that the King's expressions during the heated moment fell far short of the dignity, restraint, and decorum the nation rightfully expects from its Monarch.

The King acknowledged that his actions caused profound pain, disappointment and embarrassment to the Royal Family, amakhosi and the broader Zulu Nation.

King MisuZulu kaZwelithini has also apologised to the Nazareth Baptist Church for the harsh words directed at its leadership.

In a statement, the royal household has urged members of the public to halt the further sharing and circulation of the video, and that it is handling the fallout privately.
