Democratic Alliance calls for appointment of permanent police minister

The Democratic Alliance (DA) has called on President Cyril Ramaphosa to appoint a permanent police minister.

This as the party marched against crime in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro's Northern areas, in the Eastern Cape.

The municipality has a high crime rate, with about 400 murders in the first quarter of 2026.
