Madlanga Commission | The Commission of Inquiry hears testimony from two protected witnesses

The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry is hearing testimony from two protected witnesses, whose evidence could shed further light on allegations of wrongdoing within the South African Police Service.

The Commission has allowed Witnesses N and O to testify partially in camera, citing concerns around their identities and safety.

Witness N is a serving SAPS member attached to the Political Killings Task Team in the Eastern Cape, where investigations are underway into corruption and murders linked to the University of Fort Hare.

Witness O, also a serving police officer and whistleblower, is expected to provide evidence relating to illegal mandates and operations involving senior and junior SAPS members.

The Commission has confirmed that both witnesses approached the inquiry voluntarily.
