New Zealand Labour Party's spokesperson for Foreign Affairs, Vanushi Walters, described India as an extremely important partner, noting that both the National Party and Labour Party have agreed on strengthening bilateral ties.

Party spokesperson reiterated the Labour Party's backing for the India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and said deepening the partnership would remain a key priority, expressing hope to visit India soon after New Zealand's elections in November.
