Moving castle: 1,800 people work together to shift Japanese castle

🏯 About 1,800 people came together in Aomori, Japan, over the weekend to pull a 360-tonne castle about two metres closer to its original place as part of renovation works.

The keep – a fortified tower within a castle – was moved to allow repairs to a wall damaged in a major earthquake.

The castle will reportedly continue to be pulled by hand until the end of August, with machinery taking over for the remaining distance by the end of the year. #japannews #japan #aomori
