Syria prepares to display ancient artefacts returned by France after Macron visit

Syria has received 23 ancient artefacts returned by France, following a visit by President Emmanuel Macron to meet Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa. Among the pieces is a funeral headstone from Palmyra depicting two brothers, alongside a hunting scene carving dating back to the second or third century BC. The objects, some more than ten millennia old, belong to Syria's Directorate General of Museums and Antiquities and will soon go on public display. Officials say their return signals Syria's re-entry into the international fold as the country works to rebuild after more than a decade of war.
