SA continues to grapple with illegal mining

South Africa Law enforcement agencies continue to grapple with the illegal mining crisis in the country.

Yesterday, more than 200 suspects were arrested for illegal mining-related offences at Losberg Kloof mine in Westonaria on Gauteng's Westrand.

This was part of Operation Prosper involving Gauteng police, the SANDF and Sibanye mine's protection services.
Illegal mining equipment was also confiscated.

Most of the suspects are from Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Lesotho.
