217 suspected illegal miners expected to appear in court

217 suspected illegal miners are expected to appear at the Westonaria Magistrates' court.

They were arrested on Tuesday at Losberg Kloof mine in Westonaria, on Gauteng's West rand.

The arrests form part of Operation Prosper involving police, the army and security officers.

Police also seized R22 000 in cash found from one of the arrested suspects.
