Washington is not hosting World Cup matches, but a FIFA Fan Zone by the US Capitol is drawing supporters from across the city’s diverse communities.

In a region home to more than 170 nationalities and over 1.6 million immigrants, fans say the event reflects shared interest beyond team allegiances.
