Iran's President, Masoud Pezeshkian, says the U.S. Government's conduct, both as world cup co-host and in its foreign policy, was about bending rules, bullying rivals, creating obstacles and cheating.

Posting on X, the Iranian leader called it the MAGA playbook, saying Iran rejected such games.

His remarks come hours after the United States launched a series of strikes against Iran in an effort to impose heavy costs for what it describes as the targeting and attacking of commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

President Donald Trump, attending a NATO summit in Türkiye, declared that he viewed the interim agreement with Iran to end the war as 'over', and that negotiating with Iran was a waste of time.

He has threatened further strikes as soon as tonight into tomorrow morning.
