DCI begins Sh 6.2 billion public service payroll fraud probe

The Government has handed over the public service payroll audit report to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), paving the way for investigations into suspected payroll fraud and irregularities amounting to 6.2 billion Shillings. Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku says the probe is part of ongoing reforms to eliminate ghost workers and strengthen accountability in the management of public funds.
