Senator Ronald dela Rosa, who led former president Rodrigo Duterte's deadly anti-drug campaign, has returned to the Philippine Senate after six months out of view.
He is now the subject of an International Criminal Court arrest warrant for alleged crimes against humanity.
Video showed him rushing through Senate hallways, reportedly trying to evade arrest.
Duterte allies have placed him under the Senate’s "protective custody," turning the chamber into a legal battleground. The case now moves to the Supreme Court.
Al Jazeera's Jamela Alindogan reports from Manila, Philippines.
