Thai police raid luxury villas used by Chinese scam syndicate

Thai police on Monday (Jun 8) raided two luxury pool villas in Chiang Mai that were being used as operational bases by a Chinese scam syndicate. Officers arrested 15 suspects and seized dozens of laptops and mobile phones. The group allegedly targeted victims in China through phone scams. Authorities said most of the suspects had entered Thailand on tourist visas and overstayed, while others entered the country illegally.
