UN assessments under way following Venezuela quake

UN aid chief Tom Fletcher has arrived in Venezuela for a four-day visit following earthquakes that struck the country nearly two weeks ago.

Fletcher will meet survivors, frontline responders, senior government officials and teams supporting search and rescue efforts.

UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said assessments under way are focused on immediate humanitarian needs, not wider damage and recovery estimates.
