Human Rights Commission probes high food prices

The Human Rights Commission is on a mission to find out what is behind high food prices and food insecurity, which are disproportionately affecting poor households in South Africa. The Commission is hearing oral testimony from key stakeholders and policymakers in the food production sector. Minister of Land Reform and Rural Development, Mzwanele Nyhontso, has appeared at the hearing to address policies relating to the security of land tenure.
