Maxwell Court residents demand relocation

Residents of Maxwell Court building in Claremont, Johannesburg, are calling on government to relocate them to a safer place.

They say the 9-storey building, housing more than 300 families, has deteriorated to a point where it is no longer habitable.

SABC News reporter Siphesihle Nhlapo says there's widespread mould, broken water pumps, and open elevator shafts, along with a recent fire.
