Some provisions of Refugees Act unconstitutional and invalid: ConCourt

The Constitutional Court has confirmed a Western Cape High Court ruling declaring several provisions of the Refugees Act unconstitutional and invalid.

The court found that asylum seekers cannot be denied access to the system simply because they entered the country irregularly, failed to report to authorities within the prescribed period, or lacked the required immigration documentation.
