RCMP investigating Tesla driver who appears asleep at the wheel

RCMP are investigating after a video showing a Tesla driver allegedly asleep behind the wheel on a busy highway in southeastern B.C. was shared online.

The footage was captured by Carleigh King, who was driving along the Trans-Canada Highway between Golden and Revelstoke on the afternoon of July 5. King said the car was moving at traffic pace — about 100 km/h — and that she saw two children in the back of the car as well.

CBC News has blurred the video to remove the driver’s face and their licence plate to protect their privacy.
