Flexibility for dialect films, but still value in having Mandarin versions: Tan Kiat How

The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) has become more flexible in allowing dialect dialogue in films and is prepared to approve more screenings of dialect-language films if there is audience demand, said Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information Tan Kiat How. Speaking in parliament on Tuesday (Jul 7), he added that Mandarin should remain the main language on free-to-air television and radio, adding that Mandarin versions of films help make them accessible to a wider audience, especially younger Singaporeans. #sgnews #singapore
