The Public Service Commission has handed over recommendations to Communications and Digital Technologies Minister Solly Malatsi regarding governance issues and poor procurement practices at the ICT government department, SITA. Key findings of the investigative report included poor governance issues such as inconsistent application of consequence management, high turnover of staff and board members, and leadership instability. The PSC has recommended steps to stabilise leadership at the entity and to begin the process of making it fit for purpose, as the South African government seeks to become globally competitive in its use of digital technology.
