India-Indonesia relations: Modi arrives in Jakarta, with both sides seeking to boost strategic ties

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Indonesia. It is his first trip there since ties were upgraded in 2018 to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Mr Modi will be holding talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta on Jul 7, to look at how they can work more closely together on defence, maritime security and critical minerals.
