Newcastle high school students have travelled to Cobar in NSW's west to launch two high-altitude balloons into the Earth's atmosphere.
Their teacher, Ben Moore, explains that the balloons, weighing 3 kilograms each, were handmade by the students and captured images and data from the outer atmosphere.
