Ratanda Shootings | Gauteng to investigate

While the Gauteng province has pledged a full investigation into the police shootings following fatal unrest sparked by water outages in Ratanda, south of Heidelberg in Gauteng, grieving families of the two men killed say they remain frustrated and heartbroken.

They are questioning the use of live ammunition by police and raising concerns about how the crime scene was handled.

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi visited grieving families and offered the provincial government's condolences and extended trauma counselling services to the victims' loved ones.

Speaking to SABC News, family member Thapelo Motaung says the pain of losing his brother has been compounded by unanswered questions and a lack of accountability.
